Yoga for kids

“Introducing yoga and mindfulness allows helps children with body awareness, emotional regulation, self esteem, concentration, and strength“

Approach

As an experienced educator, I have had the opportunity and joy to work with children and adolescents of all ages in schools as well as community settings. I recognize how young people need space to play, explore, breathe, and express themselves freely in a safe environment.

I acknowledge that young people are still learning how to be in their bodies — and that for many, feeling at home in their own skin can be a challenge. My approach blends movement, sound, aromatherapy, affirmations, partner work, and reflective discussion to honor diverse learning styles and create a space where all children and adolescents feel seen, safe, and supported.

By offering mindfulness practices through an invitational lens, children and adolescents are offered choices that can support their own agency and empowerment. As young people learn more about the mind and body connection in a safe environment, they can build a toolbox of self-soothing techniques they can return to when navigating big, complex emotions — planting the seeds of resilience, self-awareness, and inner calm from an early age.

Who I Work With

I offer dynamic yoga and mindfulness classes tailored to each child or adolescent’s energy that day. I infuse trauma informed yogic principles, alongside sensory and visualization exercises to make each session engaging and relevant to the child or adolescent’s developmental age. Each session focuses on different SEL (social emotional learning) themes such as:
Gratitude
Self Esteem
Balance
Manifestation
Communication
Growth mindset
Stress management
Self Awareness
Strengths
Intuition

Learn English Through Yoga!

With 8 years of teaching English as a new language (ENL) to students around the world and my own personal language learning journey, I understand how delicate and intimidating learning a new language can be. Therefore, using yoga as a tool to teach english is an affective method for students to feel comfortable, empowered, and have fun!

Instead of simply studying English while sitting down, children are invited to move their bodies into shapes that resemble animals, nature, emotions, and learn new vocabulary along the way.
